Cape Cod Canal Visitor Center 508-833-9678- Learn the history of the world's widest sea-level canal. See the retired 41 FT US Army Corps of Engineers patrol boat, 46 seat theater showing a DVD presentation of the history, critters and wildflowers of the canal and more. Admission is free and the center is closed on Mondays & Tuesdays.

BIKING, ROLLERBLADING, NATURE WALKING- Along the Shining Sea Bike Trail-Falmouth-This trail, which is an easy 7.2 miles (round trip), is a level path between Falmouth and Woods Hole. It starts at Locust and Mill Rds in Falmouth and ends at Railroad Ave. in Woods Hole. It follows the coast with Vineyard Sound views, and includes a absolutely magnificent view of Nobska Light pearched on its knoll looking over the ocean.

Cape Cod Canal Trail-Bourne Along the Cape Cod Canal 13 mile(round trip) level trail runs alond the Cape Cod Canal from Bourne to Sandwich on the Cape side. There are numerous rest areas along the path where people stop to watch the boaters and fishers.

Mountain Biking,Cape Otis Air Base-Many off road trails riding is permitted on the Town of Falmouth and Crane Conservation Land, which is not part of the base. The best way to access the riding is from route 151. There are many trailsin this area which don not go onto base property. Parking is along Rt. 151 near the dirt mound after you exit from MacArthur Blvd Rt 28

Falmouth Heights Beach: Just east of Falmouth's Inner Harbor facing Martha's Vineyard 3/10 walking distance. Bristol Beach- Falmouth Heights 2/10 walking distance Surf Drive Beach: Just a short walk from Main Street and the center of town. Stoney Beach: Located in Woods Hole. Woodneck Beach: Most natural and remote of all Falmouth's public beaches. Old Silver Beach: Located in North Falmouth features really soft sand beach.

LIGHTHOUSES OF CAPE COD
Nobska Light, Woods Hole- Built in 1928 Sandy Neck Light, Barnstable - Built in 1826 Lewis Bay Light, Hyannis Harbor Hardings & Chatham Lights, Chatham Champlain Rd. - Twin lighthouses were built in Chatham in 1808 and the northern light was moved to Eastham in 1923. Nauset Light, Eastham Ocean View Drive. Cape Cod Light, Truro In 1797 George Washington ordered the construction of the Cape's first lighthouse to warn sailors of area "Graveyard of Ships" This is the most powerful light in New England; ships from 30 miles away identify this landmark.
